How does an Assisted Living Community Differ from a Nursing Home?

Nursing Homes are designed to care for very frail people that are not able to care for themselves and have numerous health care requirements.

Assisted Living Communities are designed to assist seniors who are able to care for themselves but who want or need help with a few activities. Assisted Living Communities are often deemed necessary when the person in question needs help with preparing meals, bathing, dressing, managing medication or performing household chores. Because of the social aspect, Assisted Living can greatly enhance the quality of life.
